Life just goes on and on, doesn't it? And echoes of our past are everywhere. Good God.

Occasionally I seem to stumble on this journal. For the first time though, the other day, I reread the whole thing and was sort of struck by "who was this person?" I was actually sort of insightful originally... not always correct, I don't think, but I used to make attempts to at least think about things that were bigger than me. I feel like I almost had a lot more figured out back then than I do now. I would read passages I'd quoted from stuff I'd read and still think, "that's a pretty cool quote." Now my insights are limited to "that's a pretty cool quote." Back when I was writing in this journal regularly, I could write 500 words easily on
